At Lockett & Co, we provide a wide range of training services pertaining to the Licensing Act 2003, the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005, Alcohol (Minimum Pricing) (Scotland) Act 2012, and other areas pertaining to retail. Training can be delivered at our in-house training facility in Worcestershire, or at one of our many other training locations in England, Wales and Scotland. Alternatively, we can even register a suitable venue of your choice as a satellite training facility and deliver the required training course at your convenience.
We provide the following:
Award for Personal Licence Holders (APLH) - The Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders (APLH) is one of the accredited training qualifications required in order to apply for a Personal Licence in England and Wales. Candidates must successfully pass an examination with a result of 70% or higher to achieve the Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders (APLH).
Scottish Certificate for Personal Licence Holders (SCPLH) – The Scottish Certificate for Personal Licence Holders (SCPLH) is one of the accredited training qualifications required in order to apply for a Personal Licence in Scotland.
Scottish Certificate for Personal Licence Holders (Refresher) (SCPLHR) – The Scottish Certificate for Personal Licence Holders (Refresher) (SCPLHR) is one of the accredited refresher training qualifications, which is mandatory for Personal Licence Holders to complete after five years from the day their Personal Licence has been issued, and every five years after in order to keep up to date with the licensing requirements.
Scottish Award for Licensed Premises Staff (SALPS) – The Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 requires all staff who wish to sell or serve alcohol in a licensed premises must receive at least 2 hours of training. This course is designed to meet these requirements.
Staff Training Workshop – Staff must be trained in the sale of alcohol, Challenge 25 (or other appropriate age verification policies) and age restricted products, and regularly refreshed in their training, in order to sell alcohol. Lockett & Co offer both the initial training and refresher training for staff in alcohol and age restricted products. Once staff members are trained they can be given written authorisation for the sale of alcohol.
Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS) Training Workshop – The DPS training course is specifically tailored to assist the DPS in the operation of their site with relation to the Licensing Act 2003. The roles and responsibilities of the DPS are reviewed to ensure compliance with all licensing law.
Compliance Workshop – Lockett & Co also offer a specialised and tailored workshop for employees at all levels of management (from part-time cashiers to Designated Premises Supervisors and site managers). The workshop is geared towards ensuring compliance with the licensing law and licence conditions.
Additional Training Services – In addition to training that pertains to the Licensing Act 2003, the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005, and Alcohol (Minimum Pricing) (Scotland) Act 2012, we also offer other courses for the benefit of businesses and commercial groups, such as conflict management courses for individuals and groups; as well as HSE courses on Emergency First Aid at Work, First Aid at Work, and First Aid at Work (Refresher).
